Malibu

Zuma beach was one of the prettiest beaches I’ve been to in Southern California. We spent the day there while we were visiting my sister and her family in LA. I am never so happy as when I’m at the beach. We made at least five trips to the beach during my stay, and I still don’t feel like it was enough. Looking at these pictures makes me miss summer already.005026
The above photo is my new favorite. M looks so sweet intently clutching his wee red bucket. That kid was fearless when it came to the water. He would go charging into the waves without ever looking back. Of course we watched him closely and were never far behind, but HE didn’t know that! He was just determined to jump right in with or without parents.

As much as M loved the water, he certainly enjoyed the sand. He was COVERED head to toe within minutes of our arrival. We would find it in his hair and ears for days afterward. And occasionally he would sneak a handful to his mouth. Blech! You might notice his little sand goatee in one of the pictures below.

We buried Spence and my brother-in-law, Mike, and the babies thought it was hilarious. M thought it was too funny that daddy lost his body.

It was especially fun to spend the day together because M and I hadn’t seen Spence in a few weeks. Man, we missed him! A day at the beach together was just what we all needed.
