Look who’s finally walking! We’re so dang proud! Big boy!
This past weekend when my family was in town we decided to take a train ride on the Thunder Mountain Line! It was such a fun adventure and something that Spencer and I had talked about doing for a long time now. M was rather entranced (well for the first leg of the journey anyway) by the whole experience. He sat quietly, clutching his beloved Curious George and watching the scenery fly by. It was such a pretty view all along the river. We really enjoyed our train ride and were so glad that we got to share it with family!
With the help of Bri and Whitney from KIVI, M and I surprised Spencer on the air! We filmed a little video for him while he was at work and they aired it on Friday. Sneaky little us. I was proud for pulling it off because usually I totally blow surprises. And even this one had a couple close calls.

Hi Idaho friends hoping to adopt! In an effort to build our portfolio, we’re looking for people who may want family adoption videos made for their adoption profile/blog. We feel very strongly that a video showing who you are and what your family is like could be a valuable addition to an adoption profile or blog and can make your family stand out. We’d love to capture your family moments and edit them together to give expectant parents considering adoption a better look at your family.
You can see a sample by watching our adoption video here.

This kid:
We went to one of our favorite parks over the weekend. M took one look at the splash pad and started squirming to get out of his stroller. We hadn’t anticipated getting wet, so we were all just in normal clothes. But, M was so desperate to play, I let him have at it. And he had a BLAST. He splashed and splashed and splashed. The look on his face was pure joy.
Then we left the water to swing and slide for a bit…
…only to come back for more.
I don’t know that I have ever seen M have more fun. He was in heaven. He got so soggy that drastic measures had to be taken (just channeling his inner Aunt Chelsey):
M spent the rest of our time at the park with his pants hanging from the stroller where they could dry. And then, unfortunately, the time came for us to go home. And someone was very unhappy about it:
Don’t worry M Bug, we’ll go back again soon!
We have continued our outdoor adventures of exploring different parks while the weather has been so lovely. Recently we went to the Idaho Botanical Garden. Spencer and I had been once before, but it was M’s first time. He spent a good chunk of the trip holding on to our hands and toddling about the premise. There is a children’s garden, but it was under construction. We had fun pointing out all the birds and bunnies we saw along the way.
This is my favorite park we have been to so far. It was BEAUTIFUL. The pictures don’t really do it justice. It would be neat to do family pictures here someday.
